Further on the topic of Record Labels

Soulwax has an interesting section on getting permission from artists/labels for including tracks in mixes. As well as some explanation as to why some artists/labels are so tight-assed about it.

Haven’t got any specific mixes planned at the moment.

I have a couple of review/mp3 posts to make of some lesser known artists that I really like. I’ll try and get those done this weekend.

(If you have requests for mixes then let me know ;) )

Yeah, it’s pretty crazy huh?

Although the dealings I’ve had with the labels were more about them not wanting people to be able to download mixes with their songs included in them.

Don’t think they’d care too much (or be able to do anything) if you included songs in mixes in clubs.
