Honestly, it was great on so many levels. We only had 150 or so people, but that was all we needed. A community was born for a weekend, everyone was your friend, we danced like mofos, and set things on fire.
It was also particularly special for me because I played my first two dj sets in front of crowds there.
My first set (on Friday) went alright, except for my headphones dying! I managed to complete my set by cheating and using auto beatmatching and guessing suitable entrance points for the next tracks. At the end my laptop died because it ran out of battery – note to self: remember to plug in power!

My next set was Sunday, after the main festival event where the man burns. Just before the man gets burnt, there was a bunch of fire spinning demonstrations. This is someone spinning fire pois. There were also fire chuks, fire staff, fire morning star, and fire whips. All of them were awesome.
This is the man right in the midst of burning to the ground.
My second set, and here you can see “old skool techno on fire!” in the background. Much thanks to happyinmotion for setting it up for my set – it looked completely mind blowing and is like having a strobe light made out of fire. This set was rocking, everyone got up and shook their booty – I even got to run away from the decks a couple of times to join the dancers.
